Good Luck on Exams, Wolfpack!

Greetings Wolfpack!

It’s hard to believe final exams are upon us and another academic year is almost in the books. During this time of year it is normal to feel anxious and stressed, but you still have plenty of time to finish strong and end the semester on a high note.

I want to remind you that staff and faculty are here to ensure your success, so I hope you’ll engage with us if and when you need us. Remember, we all need rest, exercise, a healthy diet, and friendships to be successful, especially during this time of year. So take care of yourself and be sure to take a break to de-stress and meet with your friends or enjoy stress-buster activities planned around campus. University Recreation facilities are open, wellness activities are planned, and NC State Dining facilities are available to make sure you’re eating healthy. The NC State Counseling Center is also available and I encourage you to take advantage of their services as often as they are needed. The Counseling Center website has self-help resources for anxiety, time management, and communication, among other topics.

Finding your ideal study environment is also important to your success, whether it’s with a group in D.H. Hill, your favorite quiet spot on campus, or the energy of Talley Student Union, find what works best for you. I have also extended Park Shops’ hours to midnight every weeknight and 6 p.m. on the weekends during exams to provide extra study spaces, both for individuals and groups.

Additionally, I’d like to remind you of a large event happening at the Belltower tomorrow, May 1st at 3 p.m., that will impact campus. As the United States celebrates the 100th anniversary of Armistice Day, the end of World War I, NC State will remember its commitment and contributions to the war with a full military ceremony at the Belltower, including a fighter jet flyover, a 21-gun salute, and remembrance from current and retired military leaders. The event is open to the public, so please join us! More information can be found at NC State News.

Again, I wish you all the best as you prepare for your finals.  And to those of you who are graduating this semester, I give you a big Wolfpack CONGRATULATIONS!  You have achieved a major milestone, and I know that you are all going to make your mark. You have learned how to THINK and DO and now it is your turn to LEAD and TRANSFORM the world.

Go Pack!,
