Letter from the Interim Vice Chancellor: Tailgating Season and Alcohol Resources

Dear Wolfpack Community:

This Saturday, the NC State football team hosts East Carolina for the first game of the season. It’s an exciting event for campus as we start the academic year, and if you choose to attend the game or tailgate with friends, I encourage you to enjoy the day responsibly with fellow members of the Wolfpack. For the first time, alcohol will be sold inside Carter-Finley Stadium. Please take a moment to review sale guidelines here, which are meant to provide a safe, positive experience for all fans in attendance.

As an NC State student, it is your responsibility to conduct yourself in a manner that helps enhance an environment of learning in which the rights, dignity, worth, and freedom of each member of the community are respected. Violations of campus or university policies, rules or regulations, or federal, state, or local law may result in a violation of the Code of Student Conduct and imposition of sanctions.

There are many campus alcohol education resources available through NC State Prevention Services. If you are concerned about a friend who may have substance abuse issues, you can submit their information to our CARES team and a counselor will follow up with them.

This weekend kicks off another season of Wolfpack football, with all of its traditions and excitement for our campus community, alumni and fans. Thank you for all you bring to the NC State community as students, and thank you for helping ensure football games are fun, safe and enjoyable for all.

Go Pack!

Interim Vice Chancellor
