Advising and Academic Help

Your academic path can go in many directions. The Division of Academic and Student Affairs offers tools and resources to reach your desired destination.

University Advising and Exploratory Studies

If you aren’t sure what you would like to major in or are hoping to switch majors at NC State, University Advising and Exploratory Studies can assist you with your exploration. New first-year students can apply to the Exploratory Studies program, connecting you with a cross-curricular academic advisor to explore your major and career options. Current students should visit our Change of Major Drop-in Advising or join our Inter-College Transfer program to discover their new major on campus.

University Advising and Exploratory Studies strives to provide quality advising services to undergraduate students to assist with major selection, career awareness, academic success and personal enrichment.

Disability Resources

The Division of Academic and Student Affairs is committed to ensuring that no qualified student with a disability at NC State is excluded from, denied the benefits of, or subjected to discrimination under any program or activity.

The Disability Resources Office helps to ensure that students with disabilities are provided an inclusive experience and equal opportunity to participate in courses and programs by determining eligibility for accommodations and serving as a resource to faculty in helping them understand their obligation in providing equal access.
