Bio

Abby Moran, CARES Coordinator, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who is deeply passionate about supporting university students as they navigate new experiences and new challenges. As a CARES Coordinator, Abby assists students in creating action plans to connect students with community and campus resources for their overall well-being, mental health, and success. She earned both her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Master’s degree in Social Work from Appalachian State University. Prior to joining NC State, she worked in a nonprofit setting providing therapy to survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. She is especially passionate about connecting with students in difficult moments and helping them build practical skills, resilience, and confidence as they move forward.
