Bio

Jessica (Jess) Braxton is a Learning Specialist for TRIO Collegiate and Pack Support Programs at NC State University, where she designs and leads academic support programming and mentors a team of student tutors. Her work centers on helping students build practical learning strategies, confidence, and leadership skills that extend far beyond the classroom.

Before transitioning to higher education, Jess taught secondary Social Studies and AP Psychology, experiences that continue to shape her engaging, student-centered approach. She is currently pursuing her M.S. in Learning Design and Technology at NC State, with a intended focus on immersive learning through AR/VR and game-based design. As a Penn Resilience Facilitator, she hopes to help students navigate challenges, adapt, and thrive.

Outside of her work, Jess enjoys spending time with family, strategy-based games like Magic: The Gathering, and spending time at the gym.
