Dr. Lisa Zapata serves as the interim Vice Chancellor for the Division of Academic and Student Affairs. The mission of the division is to collaborate with colleagues across campus to prepare students to succeed academically, professionally and personally; to embrace a commitment to lifelong learning; and to become informed, engaged, and productive citizens.
Lisa began working at NC State in 1998, serving in progressive leadership roles within the Division of Student Affairs for 14 years and providing leadership within the Division of Academic and Student Affairs for the past seven years. As the Senior Associate Vice Chancellor, Lisa provides support to Army ROTC, Air Force ROTC, and Naval ROTC; Military and Veteran Services; Student Health Services; Counseling Center and Prevention Services; Career Development Center; Fraternity and Sorority Life; Student Conduct; Student Legal Services; and Student Media. In the interim role as Vice Chancellor, Lisa provides leadership and support to co-curricular and curricular services and programming for all students.
Lisa received her bachelors in Psychology from UNC-Chapel Hill and both her Masters in Counseling and her doctorate in Educational Research and Policy Analysis from NC State University. Dr. Zapata is also a Licensed Professional Counselor.
