Bio

While admissions has been at the core of Val’s career, she’s had her hands in lots of things — from launching a student-staffed marketing agency, to coordinating interview weekends and fundraising events, to helping grad students weigh the pros and cons of job offers. She began her career at liberal arts colleges in her native Pennsylvania, spent a few years at Duke, then joined the Wolfpack — first with the Park Scholarships program, and now with NC State’s Institute for Advanced Analytics. She holds bachelor’s degrees in English and art history from Gettysburg College, and an M.S. in technical communication from NC State. She loves cultivating students’ potential to be thoughtful, resilient leaders.
