For some people, connecting with fellow students and making new friends is an important part of the college journey. We know that a strong sense of belonging is a critical factor in your academic success and overall well-being. Research has shown that students who feel disconnected while in college are less likely to stay, succeed, and graduate.
If you are struggling to find your place or make meaningful connections, the Student Success Connections initiative is here to help.
The Engagement Navigator
Meet with a dedicated staff member who will serve as your guide to campus community. In a private, personalized session, your Navigator will engage in conversation about your unique interests, needs and the type of community and connections you are seeking.
Your Navigator will then provide you with a targeted, personalized action plan, as well as direct connections to relevant clubs, centers, offices, units or academic support services intended to help you find community.
Our goal is to ensure you feel connected, supported, and confident in your place as a member of the Wolfpack community.

Attend campus events
Find out about all of the things happening on campus by checking out the university calendar.
Join clubs and organizations
Campus organizations are a great way to connect with students with common interests. Check out the Get Involved website to browse all the groups and opportunities.
Explore your creative side
Check out the the visual and performing arts programs on campus and get involved with the Arts at NC State. Visit the Gregg Museum of Art & Design or sign up for a class at the Crafts Center. Check out a show with NC State LIVE or University Theatre.
Connect with classmates
Consider using the Study Buddies feature in the Navigate Student app to create a study group. Pack Pals is a great way to connect with students with common interests.
If video games are your thing
Visit the NC State Gaming and Esports Lab or Check out the Esports Club at NC State.
Visit and explore one of the student success focused offices or initiatives on campus

Wellness and Recreation
Check out all the Wellness and Recreation opportunities or download the WellRec app to stay informed about programs, services, and facilities. Explore other types of Wellness opportunities on campus with Wolfpack Wellness. Join a fitness group, intramural sports, or other programs including:
Find a job on campus
Meet new people and make connections through an on-campus job. Work with a supportive supervisor, create a flexible schedule, and gain valuable professional experience while making extra money. NC State Student Centers and University Housing are great places for student jobs. Maybe you want to join Student Media and gain hands-on experience in mass media.
