The Student Success Committee, in partnership with the Academic Advising Professional Development Committee, presented the Inaugural Student Success Symposium on Tuesday, May 13th, 2025. The Student Success Symposium was a full day opportunity for NC State faculty and staff to come together and share student success best practices, build networks to collaborate across units, departments and programs, and provide space to discuss and determine solutions for institutional gaps related to student success.

About the Keynote Speaker

We are excited to welcome our Keynote Speaker, Dr. Audrey Jaeger, Ph.D., W. Dallas Herring Professor of Community College Education and Executive Director, Belk Center for Community College Leadership and Research. Dr. Jaeger’s Keynote titled: “Every Thread Counts: Supporting Student Success from Where You Are,” will undoubtedly be an engaging and inspiring experience for all.
Dr. Jaeger is the visionary founding executive director of the Belk Center for Community College Leadership and Research. Her career is marked by a deep-seated commitment to understanding and improving postsecondary pathways for all learners, a passion evident in her extensive body of research on community colleges, college transfer, and leadership development.
Jaeger’s work goes beyond academia, actively engaging with community college leaders and policymakers to translate research findings into practical strategies. Through the Belk Center, she has created a powerful platform for collaboration, providing leaders with the tools and knowledge necessary to tackle their most pressing challenges and ultimately enhance student outcomes. Her ability to distill complex issues into actionable insights has made her a sought-after expert and a catalyst for positive change across North Carolina’s community college system and beyond.
The impact of her scholarship and engagement has been acknowledged with numerous accolades, culminating in NC State’s prestigious Holladay Medal – the highest honor given by NC State and the Board of Trustees, recognizing outstanding and sustained contributions to the university through achievements in research, teaching, or extension and engagement. Jaeger has also received the Association for the Study of Higher Education Mentor Award, the NASPA Robert H. Shaffer Award for Academic Excellence as a Graduate Faculty Member, the Champion of Science, Mathematics, and Technology Education Award, and the Women in Higher Education Achievement Award.
Jaeger’s leadership of the Belk Center, which has secured over $46 million in grant funding, demonstrates her capacity to mobilize resources and build collaborative networks to increase economic mobility and opportunity for community college learners statewide.
