Support Services

The NC State University Libraries provides a range of resources, including lending required textbooks and popular fiction; access to technologies including calculators, laptops, cameras, and experimental technologies; media production tools and services; and a range of reservable study and collaboration spaces. The Libraries are open 24 hours a day, 5 days a week, and offers help through a range of channels through the Ask Us service.

TRIO Programs at NC State provide academic, career, financial, career and personal resources and support to qualifying students. TRIO participants receive free and individualized services including academic tutoring, graduate school preparation, financial assistance, referrals to campus and community resources and more. A limited number of laptops are available for students to check out from the Libraries on a semesterly basis. In order to request a laptop and verify availability, you will need to complete the following form:   https://www.lib.ncsu.edu/techlending/laptop-request

ETS offers a limited number of GRE Fee Reduction Vouchers on a first-come, first served basis to college seniors and unenrolled college graduates who meet eligibility requirements. Learn more about the program.

Other Resources

The Academic Success Center (formerly the University Tutorial Center) facilitates degree completion by providing a comprehensive variety of free programs and resources that promote academic skill development and independent learning within the university environment.

The University Fellowship Office helps NC State’s undergraduate students, graduate students, and alums learn of and apply for nationally competitive and prestigious awards. These awards fund a wide range of opportunities, and many are connected to undergraduate and graduate degree programs or internships, overseas opportunities, and independent projects.

The Office of Undergraduate Research provides undergraduate research, scholarship and creative inquiry awards to NC State undergraduate students to assist in funding mentored student research, scholarship and creative inquiry. The office also offers travel awards to undergraduate students to help defray the travel expenses to present at discipline conferences.

GPS is a one-stop student success platform that combines analytics, communication, and advising tools to help support retain and graduate students at NC State University. Students can access GPS via the website or by downloading the GPS mobile app.
